Girls are second while men are third

Our regional teams got two medals at the Russian team championships

The closing ceremony took place on May 5 in “Pearl” Grand Hotel situated in Sochi.

Having only let “KARMA” team from the Nizhniy Novgorod region take the upper lead, our female junior team took the silver medals. The team was represented by Eliana Bubnova, Tatiana Shimanskaya, Alexandra Morozova and Sofia Gaer as well as Ekaterina Kamneva. Yana Chapurina acted as a chief coach as usual.

The men’s team finished 4-th in the Top League, however as the Belorussian team was playing hors concours our men’s team got the bronze medals. The team was represented by Ivan Zemlyanskii, Sanan Sjugirov, Ilia Iljiushenok, Pavel Smirnov, Boris Savchenko, Konstantin Popov, Isaak Parpiev and Svyatoslav Lisenkov under Vladimir Potkin’s supervision. “KPRF Sports club” (Moscow) won the gold medals.

The Moscow Region juniors came 4-th. “Sokol” team from the Rostov Region won the tournament.

The women’s team wasn’t very successful this year. The gold medals were won by “SSHOR chess and checkers-1” team from Saint-Petersburg.

This year the Premier Leagues had four teams from the Moscow Region: two teams consisted of students from the regional gymnasium named after E.Primakov. The other two represented the team from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the auspices of the President of Russian Federation and “Podmoskovnye Vechera”. The best team out of these four was the “Regional gymnasium named after E.M. Primakov-1”. It ended on the 13-th place.
