“Friendship match” ended in Harbin

Vladislav Artemyev outplayed Zhu Jiner while China dominated the junior section

Eight rapid games showed Chinese dominance over the Russian junior team represented by the students of the Moscow Region gymnasium named after E.M. Primakov with a total score of 36.5:27.5. The best results were performed by Alexander Usov and Alexander Fedosov who both scored 5.5 out of 8.

The star match between Vladislav Artemyev and Zhu Jiner was not a big deal for the Russian grandmaster who won with a decisive score of 12.5:1.5. After the end of the match both grandmasters gave simultaneous games to opponents’ teams. Vladislav Artemyev won all the games while Zhu Jiner finished scoring 5:3.

The closing ceremony included speeches performed by the Russian team captain Igor Yagupov and the head of the delegation Ekaterina Vasilchenko.

Chess battles are over and the Russian guests will be offered cultural activities tomorrow.
