Tashkent – a chess city
On February 14 Uzbekistan chess academy hosted an arbiter seminar that was conducted by an honorable President of the chess federation of the Moscow region, international arbiter and FIDE lecturer Mikhail Vitalyevich Kryukov

The seminar aims to prepare arbiters for the World chess Olympiad in Samarkand in 2026. Within three days about 20 participants will be able to learn from a rich experience obtained by Mr. Kryukov and at the end of the seminar they will pass the exam test and will obtain the FIDE arbiter certificate that allows them to work at local and international competitions.

A few days before international chess festival “Al-Biruni” also ended in Tashkent. Three Russian grandmasters participated in the event being invited by the chess Federation of Uzbekistan. World rapid champion Volodar Murzin shared 4-5-th places alongside Vladislav Artemiev in the Masters tournament while young Ivan Zemlyansky came 5-th in the Challengers tournament. Klementy Sychev came 4-th in the Futures tournament.
