The President’s Academy is on the way!

During a meeting held on March 13 between the Russian senator, multiple world champion Sergey Karjakin and the rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the auspices of the President of Russian Federation Alexey
Komissarov both sides decided to open a chess club

Sergey Karjakin’s chess club will be opened on the base of the existing “Senator” chess club and will unite students and teachers of the Academy around the intellectual game.

The meeting included the chief of the project “Sergey Karjakin’s chess clubs” and the executive director of the Moscow Region Chess Federation Albert Minnullin, the project coordinator Shamil Mansurov, vice-rector of the Academy Andrey Margolin, the dean of the faculty of sports and hospitality Maria Belyakova and the deputy leader of the department of physical culture and sports Vitaly Fetisov.

At the end of last year the multiple world champion was invited to join a very interesting event nicknamed “The President’s gambit or a financial counter game” and performed a simultaneous game against the strongest players of the Academy and the Financial university. On January 25 the team from the Academy took part in the ROSleague finals that took place in the Central Executive Committee of United Russia

The meeting also included the participation of the Academy in a new unique chess competition “UniverLeague” that will unite Russian student teams.

A special attention was shown towards a project nicknamed “Chess for close ones” under the auspices of the Moscow Region Chess Federation that is also presided by Sergey Karjakin as well as the collaboration within the project nicknamed “Time of heroes”.

Apart from the topics mentioned above the sides discussed the implementation of chess in the education programs for managers. Chess has long been considered an effective tool to develop strategic skills that are necessary for future managers.

It has become a good tradition to finish the meeting with a gift to Alexey Komissarov who received a chess board signed by Sergey Karjakin. The parties were photographed as well.
