Moscow region to welcome foreign guests
The guaranteed prize fund of the Chess Festival with GM, WGM, IM and WIM norms amounts to 3.000.000 rubles
The Open Superfinal of the Moscow region will take place on February 22 – March 2, 2024
The tournament will take place in Ershovo park-hotel which is well-known in chess community. The Festival includes four tournaments:
- Tournament “A” with classical time control and possibility to earn an international title norm-point.
- Tournament “B” (blitz);
- Tournament “C” (rapid);
- Tournament “A” with classical time control and no FIDE rating limit.
Tournament “A” will gather chess players with RIDE rating of 1951+ as well as the winners of the Moscow region Open Championship. The first prize will amount to a solid sum of 350.000 rubles.
The tournaments “B”, “C” and “D” are open to all players. The first three winners of the “D” tournament will be invited to join the main tournament of the Open Superfinal of the Moscow Region in 2025, as we this competition is planned to become annual.
VENUE AND DIRECTIONS
Moscow region, Odintsovo urban district, Ershovo village, building 51A.
By train:
Take the train in Belarussian direction (from “Belorusskaya”, “Begovaya”, “Fili”, “Kuntsevskaya” metro stations) to “Zvenigorod” station (preferably get into one of the first four train cars). Then take the bus 22 or 25 to “Dom otdykha Ershovo” (“Ershovo holiday centre”).
It takes around 1h 20 min to get to “Zvenigorod” station from Belorussian rail station and around 20 min to get to “Dom ordykha Ershovo” bus stop from “Zvenigorod” station.
Take the train in Belarussian direction (from “Belorusskaya”, “Begovaya”, “Fili”, “Kuntsevskaya” metro stations) to “Golitsyno” station. Then take the bus 22 to “Dom otdykha Ershovo” (“Ershovo holiday centre”).
It takes around 1h to get from Belorussian rail station to “Golitsyno” station and around 20 min to get from “Golitsyno” station to “Ershovo holiday centre” bus stop.
By bus:
Take the bus 881 to Zvenigorod from “Strogino” metro station.
Bus schedule: every 10-20 min.
Get off at the final stop “Kvartal Mayakovskogo”, then take the bus 22 or 25 to “Dom otdykha Ershovo” (“Ershovo holiday centre”).
It takes about 50 min to get to Zvenigorod from “Strogino” metro station and about 10 min to get from “Kvartal Mayakovskogo” to “Dom otdykha Ershovo” stop.
We are planning to organise a shuttle from the tournament venue to the nearest metro station.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:
Blitz tournament (“B”): 11 rounds, February 22, opening at 17:00.
Tournaments “A” and “D”: 10 rounds, February 23 – March 1, opening at 15:00.
Rapid tournament (“C”): 9 rounds, March 2, opening at 11:00.
Preliminary registration is open till February 15, 2024.
