The 21-st Delhi International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament -2025 finished in the Indian capital on June 14. The A group included nearly 450 players from different countries of the world while 50 of them had master and grandmaster titles.
The last round became a scene for the encounter between two players from the Moscow region as GM Boris Savchenko had to face WIM Ekaterina Smirnova. Savchenko had an upper hand, allowing him to score 7 points out of 10 and finish 24-th. Smirnova won the 3-rd women’s prize with 6 points.
The winner of the open section was a famous Indian GM A. Gupta. The silver medal was won by a Belorussian GM Mikhail Nikitenko. The bronze medal also went home to India, being won by Diptayan Ghosh.
