“Orlenok” will host Sergey Karjakin’s chess club
Sergey Karjakin and National Russian children’s center “Orlenok” Alexander Dzheus have signed an agreement concerning chess education in “Orlenok”

The meeting in the Federation Council began with a chess game between the National Russian children’s center “Orlenok” Alexander Dzheus and multiple world champion, Russian senator and the Moscow Region Chess Federation president Sergey Karjakin which ended in a friendly draw.
The collaboration agreement between “Orlenok” and the MRCF will result in creating a stable educational and sports chess infrastructure in “Orlenok” that will allow the children to attend regular chess classes. It is planned that that a chess club will be opened in October of this year. It is also planned to set up a regular chess tournament.

Other participants of the meeting included the chief manager of “Sergey Karjakin’s chess clubs” project and the MRCF executive director Albert Minnullin, “Sergey Karjakin’s chess clubs” project coordinator and the MRCF deputy executive director Shamil Mansurov, “Orlenok” deputy director responsible for education, staff and mass media Larisa Sayfutdinova and “Orlenok” Moscow branch director Sergey Barankin.
“Orlenok” has a rich experience in hosting chess shifts and we are ready to develop the project further on. It goes without doubt that Sergey Karjakin’s chess club in our center will become one of the most attractive places for children to study chess. We receive more than 20 thousand schoolchildren from all the Russian regions and many are passionate chess players”, — commented Alexander Dzheus.

“I mentioned it many times, claiming that only few people are able to become world champions but chess is good for everyone to broaden one’s knowledge and intellect. I am sure that such thematical shifts will become a powerful motivator for children who already learn chess or for those who don’t know how to play yet but want to learn”, — told Sergey Karjakin.
“We have a wide web of Sergey Karjakin’s clubs all over the country. This is a powerful resource to promote thematical events for children. This year we had “Chess shift” project”, — mentioned Albert Minnullin.
