Chess on the state service of the Moscow Region

“Zorky” sports center from Krasnogorsk welcomed the first round of regional GOSleague

The GOSleague competitions have been organized for a few years already however it is for the first time our federation decided to hold our regional GOSleague together with the State Tax Service.

The teams represented the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the State Service of Financial Monitoring and the Chamber of Lawyers who played against each other in two circles. Each team consisted of 4 persons. The players had no time to relax as they were playing blitz games (5+3), while players could still enjoy snacks and beverages between their games.

The opening ceremony included the “United Russia” chess project “Za chess” coordinator Shamil Mansurov who told the audience about the history of the event and chief arbiter Igor Kirillov.

The tournament was dominated by the lawyer’s team who scored 16 points. It was followed by the team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs with 10 points while the bronze medals were won by the team from the State Financial Monitoring Service that got 7 points.

The award ceremony was conducted by the multiple world chess champion and the president of the Moscow Region Chess Federation Sergey Karjakin alongside with the federation executive president Oleg Anikanov.

Sergey Karjakin performed a simultaneous game for the participants after the tournament. Although the resistance was high nobody could take a mere point from the champion’s hands and Karjakin won all the ten games.

The event passed in a friendly atmosphere giving pleasure and nice emotions to all the players. The Federation plans to hold such tournaments regularly and this event will become a start of a wonderful tradition!
