The event took place under the auspices of a scientific and practical forum “Civilization approach in the law philosophy and modern state sciences” which was also dedicated to the 100-years anniversary of the Institute of the State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The forum united the leading scientists, researchers and practical specialists in the field of law theory, philosophy and history.
The researchers from the Institute took part in Sergey Karjakin’s simultaneous game. One of the leading scientists Maksim Konokhov managed to make a draw against the grandmaster.
“Since my childhood and in chess history in general there have always been discussions: what is chess? Is this science, art or, perhaps sport? Of course, modern chess, especially when we talk about blitz games, is likely to be closer to sport. But classical chess is perhaps like classical music: art and science as well. That’s why I enjoyed performing a simultaneous here, in such an old university. I would like to use this occasion to congratulate you with a 100-years anniversary. This is a wonderful date, I wish you further development and prosperity”, mentioned Sergey Karjakin at the meeting.
