Pavel Smirnov finished second at the 4-th stage of the Black Sea Grand Prix
The grandmaster finished 2-nd in the rapid tournament of the “Sea bay” tournament in Anapa and was fourth in the blitz tournament

The program of the tournament that continued from June 10-15 included the Russian Grand Prix rapid and blitz stages.
The rapid tournament was dominated by IM Oleg Vastrukhin (the Krasnodar Territory) and finished with 9 points out of 11 ahead of our Pavel Smirnov. The bronze medal was won by IM Alexander Khripachenko who scored 8.5 points.
The blitz tournament was dominated by a grandmaster from Moscow Nikita Afanasiev with 10.5 points out of 13. FM Maksim Volkov (Mari El), IM David Zakarian (the Krasnodar Territory) and Pavel Smirnov, all scoring 10 points but placed in the cross-table accordingly based on various coefficients.
