Ivan Zemlyanskii will lead the Russian junior Olympic team

U16 World Chess Olympiad will take place August 16-23 2025 in Barranquilla (Colombia). And in the end of May the President of the Colombian Chess Federation Weymar Munoz will make a friendly visit to Russia on invitation of the Moscow Region Chess Federation.
The Russian team will participate in such a prestigious tournament for the first time in recent years. The team composition is really outstanding.
The first board will be represented by Ivan Zemlyanskii, the youngest grandmaster in the history of Russia who has just become blitz Asian champion and was selected to play in the World cup. He is also the bronze medalist of the Russian team championship, representing the team of the Moscow region and Sergey Karjakin’s scholarship owner.
The second and the third board will be represented by International Grandmaster Savva Vetokhin and International Master Artem Uskov accordingly, while the women’s board will be represented by Grandmaster Anna Shukhman.
