The Moscow region governor Andrey Vorobyev assisted at the meeting of ministry of sports and awarded Rapid world chess champion Volodar Murzin his gratitude letter

The meeting was also assisted by many-times world champion and Russian senator, the President of the chess federation of the Moscow region Sergey Karjakin and the federation executive director Albert Minullin.

“One of our region’s hallmarks is our love for sport. Today we are summarizing the results of this important work that you – coaches, teachers and sportsmen are doing on the municipal and regional levels following the ideas of our President who pays a lot of attention to a healthy lifestyle and formation”, — mentioned Andrey Vorobyov.

“I started to play chess by chance. I saw that there was a chess club at school
and understood I want to go in for it. At first I wasn’t accepted there so I
played against my granddad. Then I joined the club and started to play as my
hobby and became successful step by step”, — Volodar Murzin comments.
