Iliana Masaeva – Champion of Asia in Blitz!
Our young star claimed the girls under-12 event with 8 points out of 9
The Asian Youth Blitz Championships followed immediately after the classical events, where Iliana was also close to a medal —tying for 2nd place with a large group of competitors but finished 7th on tiebreaks. Our squad also scored strong classical finished, with Sofia Gaer placing 4th in the girls under-14, and 15-year-old Alexander Fedosov taking 7th in the oldest boys’ group (under 18).
In blitz, however, Iliana was unbeatable! Remaining undefeated with 8/9, she secured 1st-2nd, ahead of her Vietnamese rival thanks to their head-to-head victory.
