African Chess League: Results of the 3rd Stage!

On July 19, another exciting stage of the “African Chess League” international online tournament series was held on the Lichess platform, as part of our flagship project “Chess Diplomacy”

This round proved to be truly record-breaking, bringing together 175 players on the virtual battlefields!

The top three in the team standings exactly mirrored the previous round: the gold medals were once again won by the powerful team of Madagascar. The silver went to the ambitious Ethiopian Theophilus Chess Sport Club, while the strong national team of Equatorial Guinea rounded out the top three.

Meanwhile, new heroes emerged in the individual standings among the participants from African countries:

🥈 Eugenio Ndemesogo Nguema Oye (Equatorial Guinea)
🥉 Girum Teklewold (Ethiopia)
