Moscow Region Players kicked off the second Stage of the Kazakhstan Children’s Cup!
At the invitation of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, Vladimir Teremkov, Mikhail Belyaev, and Darya Manuylova have traveled to Kyzylorda to compete

This follows a successful showing at the first stage just over a month ago, where Liza Obraztsova secured a third-place finish.
The Moscow Region Chess Federation (MRCF) delegation arrived on May 1, with the first round commencing the following day. Despite a long layover in Astana, the team made the most of their travel time by exploring the city’s landmarks.
The Cup features six stages, split into Under-10 and Under-14 categories for both boys and girls. Each stage follows a 9-round Swiss system with a time control of 60 minutes + a 30-second increment. Players earn ranking points at each stage to qualify for the Grand Final in Astana this December (from 1-13 December). Last year our Maria Malakhova qualified for the final — and not only that: she won the bronze medal!
Our boys are playing in Tournament A (under‑14), and Darya is competing in Tournament B (under‑10). In the first round Teremkov and Belyaev won their games, while Manuylova did not.
