There are no limits for friendship in Africa

Another signed Memorandum proves that there are no boundaries for a constructive and fruitful cooperation in the chess world. Developing its project “Chess diplomacy in Africa” the Moscow Region Chess Federation signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the chess federation of Mali, one of the biggest western African countries.

The Russian senator, the MRCF president and multiple world champions Sergey Karjakin was definite about the matter: “Today we are signing an important document which will allow to make a long lasting foundation for the future sports and humanitarian collaboration between our two countries. I am sure that chess in Africa and in Mali, for instance is a wonderful tool for personal formation, leisure and education. I hope that the Memorandum will serve well for the popularization of chess in Mali. In our turn we are ready to offer different assistance to the Mali chess federation and motivate its development!”

The president of Mali chess federation Yusuf Maiga was sincere and deeply emotional saying: “We have gathered today here to deliver our warmest gratitude to our Russian friends for the honour to sign this memorandum which is very important for our federation. Chess is not a simple game or a hobby. This is a powerful tool to strengthen ones will or character. The help that will be delivered by the Moscow Region Chess Federation is extremely important for young players. We are endlessly grateful for you, Mr. Karjakin for the new chess horizons that you help us to open”.

The MRCF executive director Albert Minnullin, also present at the ceremony underlined: “This year we have signed three memorandums with African countries already. In June, just in one day we signed memorandums with South Africa and Togo and now we are broadening our foreign cooperation geography. The MRCF is planning to send chess inventory and books necessary for education, carry on online training and form local coaches, organize tournaments and online simultaneous exhibitions. We are looking forward to see students from Africa attending Sergey Karjakin’s chess shift and I do hope to see friends from Mali there as well”.
