Ivan Zemlyanskii will face Artem Uskov in Russian championship Superfinal round 1

On September 30 the Central chess club welcomed the solemn opening ceremony of the 78-th men’s Russian championship and 75-th women’s Russian championship

The Moscow Region is represented in the open Superfinal by the youngest Russian grandmaster Ivan Zemlyanskii. The chief arbiter, the MRCF honorable president Mikhail Kryukov prepared round 1 pairings.

Besides Ivan the open tournament will include Vadim Zvyagintsev, Pavel Ponkratov, Arseniy Nesterov, Daniil Dubov, Andrey Esipenko, Vladislav Artemiev, Sergey Lobanov, Ilya Ilyushenok, Artem Uskov, Vladimir Malakhov and Savva Vetokhin.

The women’s superfinal includes Leya Garifullina, Daria Charochkina, Margarita Potapova, Ekaterina Goltseva, Olga Girya, Yana Zhapova, Valentina Gunina, Ekaterina Kovalevskaya, Polina Shuvalova, Anastasiya Bodnaruk, Anna Shukhman and Alisa Galliamova.

The games will be played on October 1-6 and 8-12. October 7 is the rest day. Rounds start 3 P.M. Moscow time.

The total prize fund is 11 million roubles. The Russian champions among men and women will receive a Lada car provided by the Superfinal official partner PJSC “AvtoVAZ”
