Following tradition, Sergey Karjakin gave a simultaneous exhibition to Indian chess players. Eleven opponents surrendered, but one managed a draw – India is one of the most chess-loving countries for a reason! The best players from the exhibition received books autographed by the world champion, then he held a photo and autograph session for all comers.

In honor of the opening, all guests collectively covered a “Chess Diplomacy” banner with wishes.

In those same days, another significant event occurred in India – the launch of RT television broadcasting. Seizing the opportunity, Sergey Karjakin attended the grand opening and even got himself a microphone.
